InvestYYC Partners:
In 2012, Calgarians celebrate the city's collective cultural achievements as a Cultural Capital of Canada. Calgary 2012 is an independent, non-profit organization, co-chaired by Doug & Lois Mitchell, created to showcase Calgary’s culture and create legacy projects to encourage future cultural achievements. The goals of the organization are to raise awareness of the richness of Calgary’s cultural assets, empower cultural celebration and participation in every community in Calgary, to build a stronger sense of identity and have local and national impact.
InvestYYC is designed to assist local artists and non-profit arts, culture and heritage organizations by creating a space where their strongest, most inspiring work can be supported by people like you! InvestYYC provides you with a forum to invest time or money where you live. We hope that you will consider building a portfolio of investments, no matter how great, in these incredible projects that build our city’s creative energy.
In addition, Calgary Arts Development will match the first $100,000 donor contributions on InvestYYC made before February 25, 2013. Make a cumulative donation of $100 or greater, up to $2,500, on InvestYYC and it will be matched through a credit to your donor account. You can direct your credit to one or more of the projects on InvestYYC.
At ATB Financial, our priority is Alberta. Our customers already benefit from our financial expertise, but we’re looking to leverage this know-how in new ways and are dedicated to making this amazing province an even better place to work and live.
With our 170 branches and 133 agencies in small towns and big cities across Alberta, it’s no surprise that we take a lot of pride in the work we do to keep our communities strong. We’ve made it a priority to financially contribute and, more importantly, donate our time and expertise to important causes.
Our partnership with Calgary Arts Development and the InvestYYC portal is one part of a diverse sponsorship portfolio. InvestYYC is a grass roots initiative that provides artists the opportunity to kick start projects that might otherwise be overlooked by arts and culture donors. It is a platform for informing and growing a community of supporters for arts and culture in Calgary and ATB is proud to be a legacy partner in this endeavour.
ATB understands the important role that arts and culture plays in strengthening our communities and improving our quality of life.
That's a big reason (other than the fact that it's just plain fun) why we're part of dozens of events, festivals and rodeos from the Medicine Hat Esplanade to the Ponoka Stampede to the Grande Prairie Street Performers Festival. We have formed partnerships with the Art Gallery of Alberta to celebrate Alberta’s diverse history and culture. We are behind many development projects in communities across Alberta. Fundraising for a good cause is something our associates thrive on. Could you add the totals for corporate fundraising --- $1.2 million – for Alberta’s childrens hospitals, the United Way, the Edmonton Christmas Bureau and toys for teens.
The Alberta Foundation for the Arts (AFA) is the Government of Alberta’s primary funder of Alberta’s arts sector, supporting Alberta’s artists and arts organizations in their pursuit of artistic excellence and development of capacity while ensuring Albertans have access to the arts throughout the province.
The AFA believes that the arts sector benefits Albertans in a variety of ways, but perhaps most importantly, in improving our quality of life. The AFA is proud to partner with InvestYYC in helping artists and arts organizations find support for the pursuit of their artistic ambitions, and in doing so, enrich our communities and make Alberta a better place to live.
Calgary Arts Development plays a leadership role to promote, foster and direct investments that develop the capacity of Calgary's arts sector to achieve public and artistic impact. As the city's designated arts development authority, we are a central hub that learns about, promotes, connects, advocates for, and leads strategic initiatives in the arts to animate Calgary as a vibrant cultural centre. We are a proud partner of Calgary Arts Development and look forward to carrying InvestYYC forward as a legacy of Calgary's Cultural Capital year.
